Ghost Lantern



Description: The Ghost Lantern has two key components: the chimerical jack-o'-lantern and the mothroven within. Ghost Lanterns are not born; they are created. Mothwings, which are sages that specialize in ghostly powers, cut the pumpkins, imbue them with chimericality (which also includes a spell to keep the pumpkin from rotting), and then capture the mothroven within. Once inside the squash, a mothroven is anchored within until either the mothwing releases it or the Lantern is destroyed.

The
mothroven's hands reach out of the jack-o'-lantern, and it lifts the squash up to walk. They are usually accompanied by the mothwing that captured it, although some Ghost Lanterns have been known to escape and run free in the woods. Ghost Lanterns don't do well in a fight on their own, but the mothwing that carries it can use the creature as a weapon that enhances her powers.

If the ghost within the Ghost Lantern breaks out of the pumpkin shell somehow, it then is called just a
mothroven (Which will be a separate entry that I will link to here when it is done).
